One of our better known projects is the massive installation project at the Sheppard Pratt Health System in Towson, Maryland. This was a complicated installation project which involved business project management for over 150,000 feet of new low voltage cabling (Category 6 and 5e), aggressive timeframes and an extensive amount of project coordination for voice, data, video, overhead paging, card access, security cameras and wireless access points. Our work on this project was profiled in the leading trade publication Cabling Installation and Maintenance.
Allied Telephone and Data's network cabling technicians are certified installers for Ortronics and Berk-Tek; this includes but is not limited to: voice, data and wireless cabling. Allied is also a certified installer for ESI (Estech Systems, Inc) Communication Servers. ESI designs and manufactures business communications systems and components. ESI’s systems offer

President and owner John Shirk is a second generation telecommunications business owner as his father Jack Shirk founded Allied Telephone and Data in 1988. John has been in the telecommunications services industry all his working life. John grew up in Perry Hall, Maryland, and is proud to be serving the Baltimore metro area for all these years. John is a Certified Design Engineer, a Certified Installer, as well as a Certified Project Manager, and is dedicated to bringing the highest level of quality and expertise to every project.
